What Matters Most
- Relevant work experience in architecture, interior design or related industry
- Experience workplace design and furnishings
- Working knowledge of contract furniture lines
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- CET experience preferred
- CAP 2020 Worksheet specification experience preferred
Your New Role
A leading contract furnishings company has partnered with Boly:Welch in the search for an Ancillary Designer with robust experience in interiors and workplace design. You will report directly to the VP of Sales & Workplace Strategy and work closely with cross-functional peers to program, design, specify, coordinate, and implement furniture solutions for all spaces outside of the primary workspace, utilizing over 400 manufacturers and local craftspeople. This role is a high-visibility, high-impact opportunity to drive the brand’s image and visibility.
The leadership team will look to you for guidance on the curated coordination, renderings, and production of all 2D/3D projects. You will provide accurate technical product specifications and drawings with a close eye on budgetary limitations. Through fostering relationships across our Sales and Account Management teams, you will help develop a shared customer strategy and co-own the responsibility for delivering holistic best-in-class design and seamless project implementation. You will set the tone for the ancillary design team and provide mentorship to greener teammates.
A successful Ancillary Designer will be passionate about envisioning and executing full cycle designs and have a track record for managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong presentation skills will assist as you introduce design specs during client meetings. The ability to work with a variety of teammates and clients is essential as you communicate benchmarks, setbacks, and projected production dates. Your ability to listen with the intent of understanding will help you build trusting relationships with key partners.
