Douglas County Planning Department

Onsite (Courthouse complex) childcare available at a discounted employee rate through Roseburg Professional Childcare (Fowler St. location only). Availability is subject to center waitlist.Job Summary:
This position performs administrative support to the Planning Department. Assists the Division Business Manager and Planning Director with secretarial and administrative assignments. Duties assigned to this classification are varied and/or specialized, and the employee uses considerable judgment and independence to determine appropriate procedures and conduct of assignment.

  • Assist clients/public in person and by telephone
  • Manage accounts receivable; maintain and report office cash fund
  • Maintain office supplies and inventory
  • Perform data entry; typing; scanning and filing documents; filing legal notices/agenda columns
  • Set up departmental meetings and serve as recording secretary
  • Assist in the County mailroom
  • Assist with department projects
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required, will be considered. however, the following is preferred:
  • At least four years related work experience which includes supervisory and/or program management experience.
  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field and two years progressively responsible work experience in office management, program management and/or supervisory experience.
Required
  • At time of appointment, must possess valid Oregon drivers license
  • Regular and consistent attendance
Position may require infrequent driving. Finalist will be required to provide a driving history that meets the as part of contingent offer of employment
