Make a lasting impact in the community. Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) is now recruiting Full-Year/Three-Quarter Year AmeriCorps Members to serve at multiple sites across the Portland Metro area!
MFS is looking for qualified and dedicated applicants to join our AmeriCorps Team and help us strengthen our community. AmeriCorps Member Essential Functions:

Develop and Teach classes for students and clients in our service communities

Coordinate Health and Wellness focused family events and workshops.

Recruit and Engage family and community volunteers.

Actively Participate in professional development trainings & workshops.

Lead & Support site-specific projects and activities as defined in the site-specific service descriptions
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
-
Desire and ability to work with children and families and ensure an enriching, positive, safe setting
-
At least 18 years of age
-
A US Citizen, US National, or lawful permanent resident
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Commitment to completing a full term of service (1700 // 1200 hours) and participation in required national days of service

These positions are considered covered positions with access to vulnerable populations. Applicants selected for the position must complete a 3 part criminal history check including a nationwide NSOPW search, an FBI fingerprint check, and a state of residence and state of service check.

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in both English and a second language preferred.
