Status: Part-time

Hours: 20 hours per week

Schedule: M-Th 5 hours per day with one work-from-home day

Rate: $32.50/hour

General

  • Assure that participants, staff, volunteers and community partners are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnic background, gender or socioeconomic background.
  • Gain approval for, track, and engage in activities that meet the organization's 1% for Social Change requirement.
  • Think through the lens of racial equity and its intersections with poverty. Use the core principles of anti-racism and grounding those principles in all daily tasks
  • Incorporate the YWCA's commitment to social justice by understanding how racism, sexism, classism and other oppressions intersect and are embedded in institutions. Seek opportunities for continued learning about racial, gender and class equity.

Hiring Process Support:

  • Assist with reviewing, revising, and posting open position announcements.
  • Help review application materials and submit qualified applicant materials to the hiring manager.
  • Assist in scheduling interviews and preparing candidates for the interview process.
  • Support the creation and submission of interview packets to hiring managers.
  • Follow up with candidates who were not selected.
  • Assist in processing reference and criminal history background checks.
  • Support the facilitation of new hire orientation and onboarding.

Benefits Administration Support:

  • Assist with the collection, tracking, and processing of health insurance and all other ancillary benefit enrollment during open enrollment, for new hires, and for COBRA-eligible individuals.
  • Collaborate with relevant accounting staff to ensure timely reconciliation of bills for HR-related services, including EAP, LTD, AD&D, Life insurance, retirement, and 403b.
  • Support the communication of benefits information to employees and answer basic benefits-related questions.
  • Assist in tracking and managing leave requests, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with organizational policies.
  • COBRA Reporting

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Assist with polling staff and collecting feedback on various organizational initiatives.
  • Help analyze feedback data and prepare reports for the VP of People and Culture.

Organizational Safety:

  • Assist with tasks related to the Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Office Manager on related safety initiatives.

HRIS Management (Paylocity):

  • Collaborate with the Office Manager to manage and maintain accurate employee records in Paylocity.
  • Assist with updates and entries related to employee information, benefits, and other HR-related data.
  • Assist with tracking and auditing of employee file contents

Employee Relations:

  • Collect information and documentation regarding minor employee relations issues.
  • Gather feedback and observations from managers and employees to assist in the resolution process.
  • Report findings to the VP of People and Culture for further action and guidance.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Assist with various HR-related tasks as needed to support the VP of People and Culture.

Knowing the core principles of anti-racism and grounding those principles in everyday work are required job skills and core values

 

Related education: BS/BA degree in a related field. HR certifications (SPHR, PHR, etc.) preferred.

 

Related experience: 1 to 3 years of experience working in the human resources field, preferably in a non-profit setting.

 

Familiarity with HRIS systems: Particularly Paylocity, with the ability to learn and adapt to other HRIS systems as needed.

 

Ability to maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and always adhere to confidentiality requirements.

 

Ability to establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships: Foster effective, collaborative relationships with employees, management team members, and supervisors, promoting a supportive work environment.

 

Ability to empower: Convey an open, respectful, and solution-oriented approach in all interactions, empowering others by promoting autonomy and providing constructive feedback.

Strong technological skills: Utilize common software programs like MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

 

Ability to think and act strategically: Collaborate with key stakeholders to support and communicate changes that enhance long-term sustainability, aligned with core values and mission.

 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Effectively tailor all forms of communication to connect positively with varied audiences, mitigating tension, and improving efficiency and morale. Maintain positive and inclusive interactions, ensuring clarity and persuasion to advance organizational goals.

 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail: Manage multiple tasks efficiently without losing accuracy or thoroughness.

 

Ability to work independently: Show self-motivation and efficiently manage tasks without constant supervision, maintaining a high standard of performance
