Position Summary:

In support of the organization’s mission, the Director of Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and supervision of Community Action’s Operational business functions: Information Technology, Facilities, and Office Administration. The Director develops, implements, and coordinates day-to-day delivery of these services to all departments within the organization. Responsibilities include project planning and implementation, budget development and monitoring, and hiring and supervision of personnel.  Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Information Technology Team to ensure effective computer network design, maintain communication systems and digital security, provide technical training and assistance to staff for hardware and software applications, and ensure compliant financial and administrative record security controls to adequately protect access to sensitive information maintained within computer systems.
  • Oversee the Facilities Team to ensure adequate maintenance, repair, and safety of worksites, vehicles, and related equipment; maintain inventory control systems for preventative maintenance of equipment, including repair, replacement, and disposal; research, plan, and manage owned and leased office and workspaces.
  • Oversee the Office Administration Team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment to all guests of the organization across multiple sites, coordinate ordering and delivery of office supplies, maintenance of office equipment, and provide general administrative support.
  • Ensures the organization is compliant with OSHA workplace safety standards. In conjunction with the Human Resources Director ensures accurate recordkeeping of workplace injuries.
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Hire and supervise top management staff in the department in a manner that empowers, builds trust, and results in highly effective teamwork.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures and respond to, or correct, any at-risk safety issues immediately.
  • Strictly adhere to agency code of ethics and standards of workplace behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs including regular and reliable attendance and adherence to all company workplace behavior standards.

Required Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of five years of management experience in IT, facilities, or project management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate with key stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in management of staff performing diverse and complex job duties across multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing rules, regulations, and codes related to government funding sources such as Davis-Bacon.
  • Able to work independently as well as be an effective team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.


  • Experience with Community Action, anti-poverty programs, or working with low-income populations.
  • Proven experience managing leasehold space.

  • Most work is conducted in an office environment with moderate to extensive phone
  • Extensive use of computer and
