JOB TITLE: Program Coordinator
LOCATION: Hybrid, with time each week at St. Vincent Medical Center, Portland, OPS office.
HOURS: 20 hours per week, but flexible weekly between 10 - 30 hours (based on mutual agreement). Could grow to a full-time program manager position and promotion.
STARTING SALARY: $25.00 – $28.00/hour, depending on experience & education. Non-exempt.
BENEFITS: 0.5 FTE regular employees accrue 60 hours of PTO annually, and 12 holidays. Eligible for retirement plan with employer match.
About Us
The Oregon Pediatric Society (OPS) is a strong statewide voice for the health and well-being of all infants, children, and adolescents, while supporting those that care for them. We are the state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the professional-membership, medical standards, and advocacy organization for pediatricians. OPS provides continuing education, clinical quality improvement projects, and peer networking for medical and behavioral health providers.
OPS also champions science-based, child-focused, and equitable policies and legislation to improve pediatric medical care, youth behavioral health care access, gun violence prevention, the environment, and other social influences on health. OPS is an organization that supports strong public health measures, gender-diverse youth, and vaccinations.
Position Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator (PC) is supervised by the OPS Executive Director, and works with the small staff team, OPS member and national advisors, subject matter experts, trainers and trainees, program partners, and funding administrators to support statewide professional education programs and advocacy.
Job tasks include:
- Coordinate education projects’ planning, content development, trainings, logistics, registration, implementation, evaluation, and marketing (working with OPS Membership & Marketing manager).
- Liaise with organizations providing OPS’s continuing medical education (CME); manage applications, delivery, and reporting for CME.
- Provide audio-visual, online platforms, registration, event planning, and logistics coordination for virtual trainings, recorded events, and in-person meetings.
- Help grow a virtual youth suicide prevention training program nationally.
- Grant prospecting and supporting program funding applications.
- Data entry, information tracking, report writing as needed.
- Lead special projects, and other activities as assigned.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have professional work experience; familiarity with the healthcare sector; and an interest in working with pediatricians. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

The position requires the ability to work from home, use a computer, and sit for extended periods. The Program Coordinator must have stable home internet, the capacity to host Zoom meetings without interruption, and the ability to meet in-person in Portland. Most of the PC’s work will occur during standard business hours; work outside of those hours will be planned with advance notice and could include some early morning trainings and evening meetings, and weekend work approximately twice a year. In-person work will be negotiated according to business needs and may require some overnight travel and providing own transportation.
