About Fishline:

 

Fishline is a North Kitsap hub that provides food and access to resources that offer stability, improve health and well-being, and help people onto a path to self-sustainability based in Poulsbo, WA.

 

Position Description:   

 

The Development Director (DD) is the chief fundraising officer for Fishline. The DD manages the relationships with individual, corporate and community-based organizations that donate or have the potential to donate financial gifts to Fishline. The DD works closely with the Executive Director and Marketing and Communications Director to achieve the fundraising goals of Fishline. The DD is a member of the senior management team and has direct reports. In addition, the DD will demonstrate discretion, tact, and diplomacy in handling sensitive information, and will consistently strive to uphold the reputation and values of Fishline.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:   

 

Annual Campaign

  • Design and implement annual campaign to meet the needs of Fishline
  • Run the Resource Development Committee with a board member co-chair, reporting on progress and informing members of additional needs.

 

Individual Giving

  • Cultivates new donors for Fishline
  • Stewards existing donors
  • Implement moves management strategy to retain, grow and receive increased gifts and, eventually, planned gifts from donors

 

Corporate Giving

  • Sell sponsorships to local businesses
  • Manage other corporate giving
  • Solicit auction items from the business community
  • Recruit and retain local businesses for the Children’s Holiday Help and Birthday Bucks Campaigns. Provide assistance with reimbursements.

 

Community Based Giving

  • Cultivate and steward Faith Based Institutions
  • Cultivate and steward other community-based organizations
  • Attend and speak at community events to garner support

 

Endowment

  • Assist with creation of an endowment
  • Cultivate gifts for the endowment

 

Data Management

  • Maintain donor database
  • Use data to inform on donor capacity
  • Run reports to guide donor management
  • Process and send gift acknowledgments in a timely manner

 

Executive Support

  • Create portfolio of current and prospective donors for ED to cultivate and steward
  • Proactively provide ED with information on prospects and donors that will attend organizational events

 

Drives

  • Run and organize drives to solicit for specific needs (such as clothing for the shower program and holiday foods)

 

Events and Campaigns

  • Working with the Marketing and Communications Director, help to provide a memorable experience at Fishline events
  • Follow up with event attendees to thank them for attending and cultivate and steward future gifts
  • Analyze campaign participants to determine future capacity to give to Fishline

 

Direct Reports

  • Supervise Development Department Staff

 

Other duties as assigned
