In the role of Contracts Manager at GSI, you will be a significant contributor to risk management at this employee-owned consulting firm. Your knowledge of contract language and project cost accounting, attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and flexibility are essential for this job. Working with GSI Principals and Project Managers, as well as insurance providers and legal counsel, you will vet contracts for risk, liability, and viability for GSI. You will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of professional services contracts and sub-contracts. You will register contract information into GSI’s systems and work with Project Managers to prepare client billings for contractually complex projects. Your work will be closely tied with that of the Finance Director and Accounting Manager to maintain project accounting records and monthly accounting cycles, while ensuring profitability and long-term sustainability for the company.

In this role you will:

• Review and negotiate incoming and outgoing contracts

• Participate in the development of professional services and subcontractor agreements

• Assess both external and internal risks associated with contracts

• Manage and administer all aspects of contracts, and maintain best industry practices

• Transcribe project and contract details into the accounting system and manage periodic review and adjustments of specific items

• Monitor project performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

• Work closely with project managers to prepare complex project billings

• Serve as a central hub for all information regarding contracts; advise team members regarding contract requirements

• Perform annual renewal of GSI’s insurance policies

• Maintain company’s project pricing tool and recommend appropriate billing rates for projects

• Administer GSI’s office leases

• Educate and train employees on company policies related to contract processes and procedures

• Provide excellent customer service to clients and employees alike

• Other duties, tasks, or projects as required or assigned.

Your time will be spent in approximately the following proportions:

• 25% contract negotiation/facilitation

• 25% client invoicing

• 40% input and maintain records in Deltek Vision software

• 10% general project accountant duties

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. We follow CDC and OHA COVID-19 guidelines. We are primarily working remotely with an expectation to return to the office between July and September.

Required Education and Experience

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Typically, that would include the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree; business-related discipline preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in drafting, negotiating, and strategizing contractual agreements in a corporate environment

• Core computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and electronic communication, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in the use of Excel

Valued Education and Experience

• Experience within the Professional Services industry

• Experience working with Deltek Vision and/or Deltek Vantagepoint software

• Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) and other relevant professional certifications.
