Your New Role:
As Director of Housing Programs at the Urban League of Portland, you’ll oversee all programs and staff within the Housing Department, providing leadership, vision, support, and guidance. You’ll lead a team covering multiple programs, including housing placement, housing retention, and quality assurance. This position is responsible for coordinating service delivery in collaboration with agency programs, funders, and community partners.
One of the primary responsibilities in this role with the Urban League of Portland is research: Housing first best practices, goals and history of the organization, racial disparities impacted by climate change, national and local Black community, and national housing crisis to name a few. Big picture thinking – coupled with a strong attention to detail — will empower you to monitor every aspect of Urban League programs, provide direct supervision of housing leadership staff, create presentations for internal reviews, monitor grant contracts, hold monthly housing leadership meetings, develop comprehensive lists of affordable housing resources, and work within existing community groups to address underlying causes of chronic homelessness.
