MindSights is looking for Postdoctoral Psychologist Residents

  • Are you looking to make a difference in children's lives?
  • Would you like to be part of a collaborative and supportive clinical team?
  • Are you someone who likes to apply psychological science to help kids feel more gratified, comfortable, and successful in their lives?
  • Are you looking for personal, professional, and financial growth?

Then MindSights is the place for you!

About us:

With clinics in Portland, Beaverton/Hillsboro, and Bend, Oregon, MindSights provides comprehensive psychological assessment services to children and adolescents affected by learning disabilities, complex psychiatric conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, attachment disruptions due to foster care placement, and/or developmental/relational trauma.

MindSights places high value on collaborative practice, inter-professional communication, and professional satisfaction.

About our clients:

We serve children and young adults from both relatively privileged social and economic backgrounds, as well as many children from populations that have been traditionally marginalized within society (including children in foster care; children who are members of ethnic/cultural minority groups; and children and youth who identify as members of sexual- or gender-minority groups).  We strive to raise the bar for the quality and consistency of psychological services provided to children affected by foster care and to ensure that historically-underserved populations of children and adolescents have access to the same high quality of care as children/families with much greater economic resources and/or social privilege.

Working at MindSights, you will have a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable children and adolescents through psychological testing, evaluation and consultation, integrating the best science with compassionate practice.

About you:

Successful candidates will have a firm grounding in the science and practice of psychometric assessment, excellent interpersonal skills, and an appreciation of the effects of neurocognitive development on emotional/psychological adjustment in various life stages. A commitment to expanding one’s knowledge of the impact of cultural, traumatic, neurocognitive, and socioeconomic factors on psychological development and familial functioning is essential.

We are looking for people with awareness of (and an intense curiosity about) the influences of cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, LGBTQ+, and racial/ethnic diversity on psychological development/adjustment; and an appreciation of neurodiversity/ neurodivergence as an aspect of the broader human experience.

A commitment to continuous expansion of professional knowledge, understanding, expertise and humility is essential. MindSights places high value on collaborative practice, inter-professional communication and professional satisfaction.  MindSights works to help train and develop the next generation of psychologists to be able to do what we do, and thereby increase accessibility to high-quality psychological care within the community going forward.

What you’ll be doing:

The Post-doctoral, Psychologist Resident position provides psychological testing and assessment services to and on behalf of children and adolescents. Demographically, the population served by MindSights’ Residents primarily includes children and youth referred through the MindSights Child Welfare Services program. This position is conceptualized as a 12-month appointment, providing training experiences needed to achieve expertise in early-childhood, child, and adolescent psychological assessment, and to qualify for independent licensure as a Licensed Psychologist under Oregon Board of Psychology (OBOP) rules.

Compensation/salary and benefits:

Beginning compensation range of $53,000-$63,600 per year, reflecting a combination of base salary plus bonus for higher levels of clinical productivity.
