Cascade AIDS Project in SW Washington is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Housing Navigator. The SW WA Housing Navigator works with the staff and management of Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) to provide high-quality, coordinated, strengths-based social services consistent with the agency’s mission. The individual works CAP’s SW Washington Housing and Supportive Services team across the four-county service area to support clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and experiencing housing insecurity to navigate various housing systems, as well as maintain a small caseload of clients currently engaged in our Housing Program.

This is a Full-Time role working at our Vancouver location in SW Washington. The schedule for this role is a Hybrid Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Starting pay is $22.77 an hour which is equivalent to just over $47,370. The Housing Navigator Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $26.52. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field or two years’ experience relevant to the position
  • Prior experience providing case management (or similar) services
  • Prior experience working with people experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance addiction
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working knowledge of the internet
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to engage in equity and inclusion initiatives and discussions in the workplace, including but not limited to: engaging in training workshops, team and department meetings, and critical discussions for how CAP can better support the communities that we serve

What You’ll Do

  • Ongoing Housing Case Management for up to 10 households
  • Ongoing Housing Navigation services for a caseload of up to 35 individuals
  • Assessing client needs, working with clients to develop housing plans, addressing barriers to accessing and maintaining stable housing
  • Assisting clients in locating and securing affordable and/or subsidized housing.
  • Mediation and direct communication with landlords.
  • Completing forms and entering data into agency databases in a timely and accurate manner.
