About the position:
This position serves as the division manager and is responsible for managing 5 employees. The Data Analytics and Performance Division provides essential services to the bureau, including: data analytics, strategic planning, performance measure analysis, stat sessions, enterprise level process improvement and innovation, and data governance.

What you’ll get to do:
  • Strategic planning support for divisions within the bureau.
  • Performance management and analysis efforts, including the definition of our Bureau’s organizational performance processes, performance measure/indicator development, performance data collection and analysis, data governance in relation to our bureau’s performance measures to ensure accuracy, reliability and relevance, and performance result and trend reporting to City and PBOT leadership, as well as the public.
  • Leading our Bureau’s Cross-Bureau/Enterprise level Process Improvement efforts and directly developing, or reviewing, reports and presentations for Bureau leadership in which recommendations for improving organizational efficiency/public service delivery and allocating resources.
  • Supervising and performing technically complex data analytics and modeling tasks, such as the assessment of our Bureau’s progress against our strategic goals, the identification of problem areas and recommended solutions; and the transformation of big data into models that yield Bureau-wide.
  • Establishing partnerships with Universities, Intra-Regional Governmental Bodies (Metro, Trimet), and Industry for the purpose of securing funding or co-delivering on data and/or project evaluation focused projects
  • Developing and presenting objective analyses, findings, and recommendations to PBOT leadership, City leadership, Council and the Mayor on PBOT priorities, PBOT innovation efforts, and PBOT performance results.
  • Research questions posed by, provide answers to, and represent PBOT with the media and the public.
