About Us
The Deschutes River Alliance (DRA) is a science-based nonprofit working to restore and protect the Wild and Scenic Deschutes River. We combine research and advocacy to improve water quality, protect fish populations, and drive long-term solutions in the Deschutes Basin.
Position Summary
We’re seeking a highly organized, proactive Marketing & Event Coordinator to support our communications, events, and fundraising efforts. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Executive Director and Communications Manager in a small, mission-driven team.
Key Responsibilities
Communications (50%)
- Manage social media (approx. 3 posts/week)
- Draft and send weekly email communications
- Produce quarterly newsletter
- Update website and create basic visual content
- Support community outreach and events
Events & Fundraising (40%)
- Coordinate annual auction and donor engagement
- Support TroutFest and other events
- Manage vendors, partners, and logistics
Administrative (10%)
- Maintain donor database
- Support gift acknowledgments and mailings
Qualifications
- 1–2 years experience in nonprofit, marketing, or communications
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Experience with social media and email marketing
- Comfortable working with databases (CRM experience a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask
Bonus: Familiarity with outdoor recreation, fly fishing, or environmental issues
Compensation & Benefits
- $50,000–$55,000 DOE

Additional Details
- Portland metro residency preferred
- Occasional evening/weekend work for events
- Some travel within Oregon required
