Full-Time | $50,000–$55,000

About Us

The Deschutes River Alliance (DRA) is a science-based nonprofit working to restore and protect the Wild and Scenic Deschutes River. We combine research and advocacy to improve water quality, protect fish populations, and drive long-term solutions in the Deschutes Basin.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a highly organized, proactive Marketing & Event Coordinator to support our communications, events, and fundraising efforts. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Executive Director and Communications Manager in a small, mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

Communications (50%)

  • Manage social media (approx. 3 posts/week)
  • Draft and send weekly email communications
  • Produce quarterly newsletter
  • Update website and create basic visual content
  • Support community outreach and events

Events & Fundraising (40%)

  • Coordinate annual auction and donor engagement
  • Support TroutFest and other events
  • Manage vendors, partners, and logistics

Administrative (10%)

  • Maintain donor database
  • Support gift acknowledgments and mailings

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years experience in nonprofit, marketing, or communications
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Experience with social media and email marketing
  • Comfortable working with databases (CRM experience a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask

Bonus: Familiarity with outdoor recreation, fly fishing, or environmental issues

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50,000–$55,000 DOE

Additional Details

  • Portland metro residency preferred
  • Occasional evening/weekend work for events
  • Some travel within Oregon required
