Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Therapist to work in a local Middle or High School.

Our services are designed with a focus on the continuum of care from prevention to intensive treatment for children, youth, and families who are experiencing difficulties with emotional and behavioral issues and/or alcohol and drug abuse. To meet the real needs of children and parents, we emphasize strengths and empower families. We offer a smaller caseload with a focus on family care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide effective treatment services to youth who experience emotional and/or behavioral problems including substance use and abuse.
- Provide family, group, and individual counseling; case management and coordination, and client advocacy.
- Maintain client records according to agency policy.
- Provide treatment services following an agency-designated evidence-based approach and complete necessary treatment fidelity/adherence activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Requires state of Oregon administrative rule criteria to meet designation as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) including completion of a Master’s degree in Behavioral Health Field.
- Must demonstrate the ability to conduct client mental health or alcohol/drug assessments as well as complete a DSM diagnosis.
- Display educational capacity and or experience to develop safety plans with clients and to effectively monitor risks.
- Must have the ability to make sound and professional judgments while working independently, and be able to effectively communicate with a supervisor when necessary.
- Must demonstrate having training and/or experience in individual, group, and family therapy; and the treatment of alcohol/drug abuse and dependence.
- Must have basic knowledge and/or experience with the family systems treatment approach. Specific training in strategic, structural, or solution-focused treatment is helpful.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the normal process of child and adolescent growth and development, and behavioral health dilemmas of childhood and adolescence.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary Starting Range: $62,000 - $65,000 DOE
Weekly Supervision and group supervision are included along with annual training reimbursement and lots of in-house trainings with CEU hours all at no cost to employees.
